~ What We Pay ~
How Much We Offer
For hardbacks and oversized "trade" or "quality"
paperbacks, we pay based on a percentage of what each book will
sell for at Title Wave. For books that are still available in
new bookstores (i.e. in-print books), our cash price begins
at 10 percent of the publisher's price. Most books will be worth
up to 25 percent of the publisher's price in trade credit toward
the purchase of other items from Title Wave's extensive inventory.
For pocket-sized "mass-market" paperbacks we offer
a cash price of 20 cents apiece for the titles we currently
need. In trade, pocket-sized paperbacks are worth about 25 percent
of the current publisher's price in trade credit toward the
purchase of other pocket-sized paperbacks.
For used music compact discs we offer a percentage of what
the CD will resell for at Title Wave. This varies considerably
according to the artist and genre, and it depends a great deal
on how popular a particular CD is (and how often customers offer
us copies of that title!).
For any items that you bring in to Title Wave, factors such
as condition, availability, and stock level help determine the
amount of trade credit and/or cash issued.
~ Using Your Credit
~
When you trade your books at Title Wave, we do not require
that you pay part of your purchase in cash the way some stores
do! At Title Wave, you never have to spend "real money"
when you have enough trade credit in the appropriate category.
Since we pay based on what your books are actually worth, we
need to examine your books in order to determine their value.
If your collection includes rare or collectible titles, we will
value those books individually and determine their cash or trade
value accordingly.
~ Trade Credit Expiration
~
Title Wave Books has changed our expiration policy for
inactive trade credit accounts. Effective December 31,
2009 trade credit accounts with no activity during
the previous two calendar years will be considered inactive,
and your trade credit will expire.
Any trade credit activity on your account will keep it active.
This includes trade credit received by bringing in items, and
trade credit spent by making an allowable trade credit purchase
at any Title Wave Books location.
This change applies retroactively to all trade credit issued
by Title Wave Books between 1991 and 2007.
If you have a trade credit balance from a transaction completed
between January 1, 1991 and December
31, 2007, and if your account is not used during all
of 2008 and 2009, your trade credit will expire on December
31, 2009.
