Do you have a stack of books on your bedside table? Not ready to
start a new one for a month or two? If so, then Title Wave Books has a delivery
method custom-made for you! WaveGoodbye is our tongue-in-cheek
nickname for Media Mail delivery (what the post office used to call Book
Rate).
One of this country's first postmasters was Benjamin Franklin (the rolly-polly,
bespectacled gentleman who graces the $100 bill). Ben was also a printer
and a bookseller, and he figured it would be a good idea for the postal
service to offer special, low rates for mailing books. Over time, the
same discount came to apply to sound recordings and later, electronic
media of all kinds. More than 200 years laters, Ben's vision lives in
the form of Media Mail, the cheapest (and slowest) way to send books.
The down side is that Media Mail from Alaska takes about a month
to reach most addresses in the U.S., and can take as long as 6 weeks.
For some heavyweight books and sets, Media Mail is the only way
to go unless you're independently wealthy. It's also a perfectly good
method for shipping individual books when you don't mind waiting 2 - 6
weeks for delivery.
We package WaveGoodbye shipments with the same loving care we give all
our orders, and when we drop them off at the post office - you guessed
it - we WaveGoodbye.
When you receive your Title Wave Shipment Confirmation email, it will
tell you the date that your WaveGoodbye order entered the postal system.
Mark your calendar six weeks out-and please-don't email or call
us asking where your order is until and unless those six weeks go by without
a visit from the modern-day Ben Franklin of the U.S. Postal Service!
